The YEAR IN MUSIC CONTINUES !!!!

Music sooths the soul.

I like music.  Pure and simple.  Most types, styles, eras, nationalities, forms and all.

Live music is a genuine pleasure. Blues, gospel, hymns, rock, country, bluegrass and all the rest!!!!

Music is a joy !!!

I stood 3 feet from Muddy Waters at the High Street Brewing Company in the early 1980’s. Great to see him and that close but sad he was at a campus bar.

The Blue Oyster Cult show at the Fairgrounds Coliseum was great. the 5-guitars bit was wonderful – simply a wall of thunder…

The Ten Years After show at the Fairgrounds Coliseum was great. Alvin and boys just played their fingers off that night.

Mountain at Mershon Auditorium (1974) was great.

Jorma Kaukonen at Stache’s Little Brother’s in Columbus, OH was another up-close and personal event. Jorma was touring out of a van (travelling with his wife) and was playing campus bars and other small venues, so this was great.

The Rolling Stones were underwhelming. Loved the experience (1978 & 2015) but neither concert is a top ten.

Pink Floyd in Cleveland 1977 (World Series of Rock at the stadium) is a top ten.

Rush in 2016 at Nationwide is the best light show I have ever seen.

Bad Company at the Celeste Center is a top ten.

The W.C. Handy Blues and Barbeque Festival in Henderson, KY during June 2021 is a top ten.

Local music: The Vectors, J.D. Blackfoot, Donna Mogavero, Delyn, Ricky, Peter Conrad, Spittin’ Image, and so many others. Thanks for all the wonderful hours of enjoyment you gave this Seeker.

I remember a local band. Late 1960’s or early 1970’s. Played at different locations. One in particular that I remember was a barn on the corner of Bethel & Sawmill. Set up inside, fire outside, portable generator for power. It was LOUD. Played music from the time, current music. Cream, Blue Cheer and others. I believe this group was called The Froth (Greg Petterson on Bass, Dave Sisson on Drums and Paul Odette on guitar) originating from the Worthington area. They had the look (clothes, demeaner and the paraphernalia), sound (instruments & amplifiers), and swagger (chops) to pull it off. A fantastic evening. A fantastic memory. Thanks fellows!!!!
